How is Mindmore used in Primary Care?

Stress and depression

Prolonged stress, fatigue syndrome and depression usually cause cognitive difficulties,  primarily concerning executive function, ability to concentrate and memory.

Mindmore provides objective information about cognitive impact, without it taking extra time for the caregiver. This is a valuable complement to the patient's own stories. When healthcare professionals can see how specific cognitive abilities are affected, decisions about appropriate measures are facilitated and treatment can be more individualized. The objective data can also facilitate the communication that is necessary during the care journey, both between care providers and to external parties such as the Swedish Social Insurance Agency.

Investigation of cognitive disease

When investigating suspected cognitive impairment, we need to become better at identifying early cognitive impairment. Today's instruments (MMSE & MoCa) provide a global measure of all brain functions, which does not offer the broad picture we want for early detection.

In SKR's latest guidelines, Mindmore is recommended as the only digital tool for investigating cognitive impairment in suspected cognitive illness. Mindmore gives a complete cognitive profile as a result, which increases accuracy when we examine people with cognitive impairment, you also save time and resources as everything happens automatically. This also enables primary care to easily monitor its patients' cognitive health and make the efforts more person-centered, which is one of the goals from the National Board of Health and Welfare.

The value for healthcare professionals

  • Free up time for rehabilitation and treatment, by reducing time for assessment and investigation.

  • Facilitates assessment of which patients have the greatest need for care, as the tests can be led by other than, for example, licensed psychologists. This enables an overview of more patients' cognitive status early in the care contact, which can shorten waiting times.

  • Objective examination findings can facilitate communication with the patient, between different care providers and with external parties such as development assistance officers and the patient's relatives.

  • Simplifies processes around mental illness, such as following up and evaluating treatment effects.
